Soil Project

Fourth-grade students engaged in an exciting cross-curricular project that integrated science, math, and technology. As part of their learning journey, they delved into the study of soil layers, conducting thorough research to understand the composition and significance of each layer.

To bring their findings to life, the students creatively constructed edible models of soil layers using various food items. They meticulously measured the ingredients, to ensure accuracy.

In addition, the students tackled a real-world problem by designing innovative solutions to prevent soil erosion. Working within a budget of $1,000 and using their knowledge of decimals, they brainstormed, planned, and executed their ideas, demonstrating their ability to manage resources effectively.

This hands-on project not only enhanced their understanding of scientific concepts but also honed their mathematical skills and fostered their technological creativity.
