Ms. Latasha Tita
Biography
Mrs. Tita is arriving from the PAC East District where she served as the Assistant Principal at Zama Middle High School. As a school administrator, she led instructional improvement efforts with a focus on strategies that improved mathematical modeling as well as reasoning and evidence from text across all subjects. She was also intricate in overhauling school processes and monitoring their validity and reliability. She guided her staff through root cause analysis utilizing DoDEA summative data, as well as district and school level data, leading to data informed goal setting and prioritized strategies. In addition, Mrs. Tita developed coaching cycles with ISSs to strengthened teacher’s professional learning communities at the school level consequently aiding in the school and district goals coming to fruition.
Formerly, Mrs. Tita served at the Europe South District Office as the 6-12 Science ISS and Chemical Hygiene Advisor. During that time, she had the opportunity to carry out the vision of Science Education set forth by DoDEA, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Framework. Furthermore, as the DoDEA Head Quarters Science ISS, she had the opportunity to help plan and implement various stages of College and Career Ready initiatives, as well as, served as a liaison with DOD partners who offered STEM opportunities to our students and teachers around the world.
Prior to working at DoDEA, Mrs. Tita served for three years as the K-12 Science Coordinator and STEM Project Lead for the State of Florida’s Department of Education.
During her time at Florida’s Department of Education, she served 67 districts, she presented at national conferences and provided professional development to teachers, administrators, and state level officials.
In her career as a Scientist, she was an Analytical Chemist for Florida's Department of Environmental Protection where she performed cancer research at Florida A&M University. Mrs. Tita earned her Bachelor's in Chemistry from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, her Master's from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and her Administrative Leadership Certification from Liberty University.
Joining Mrs. Tita will be her husband John and their three children. Mrs. Tita is honored to be part of the Southeast district and to join Stowers Elementary School as an Assistant Principal.
